Change in top management at swissnuclear
Swissnuclear has named Wolfgang Denk its new managing director. The graduate mechanical engineer will assume the post on 1 April 2022. Denk succeeds Philippe Renault in this position.
Swissnuclear, the association of the Swiss nuclear power station operators, will have a new managing director for the first time in more than seven years. Wolfgang Denk has deep knowledge of the nuclear power sector from his years at, inter alia, Alstom, Axpo and Alpiq as well as Westinghouse in Belgium and France. From 2011 to 2016, Wolfgang Denk worked in Nuclear Production at Alpiq, where he was responsible for the management, optimization, evaluation and contractual management of electricity production from nuclear power plant holdings and electricity import contracts. Denk was also on the Board of Directors of the Leibstadt Nuclear Power Plant. He has already represented the interests of the Swiss nuclear sector in the past in various national and international commissions and expert groups. Most recently, Denk served as senior risk manager at Credit Suisse Asset Management in the area of energy infrastructure.
Wolfgang Denk (46) is superbly equipped to ensure a prompt and smooth transition at the helm and to represent the interests of swissnuclear in Switzerland and abroad. He is a graduate engineer in mechanical engineering with post-graduate studies in business administration and engineering (MBA & Eng.). Wolfgang Denk is married and has two daughters.
